Purdy humbly advocates for CMC over himself as NFL MVP

Before the 49ers' 45-29 win over the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday at State Farm Stadium, Brock Purdy and Christian McCaffrey were rumored for MVP.

Despite completing 16 of 25 passes for 242 yards and four touchdowns in Arizona, Purdy still doesn't think he deserves the award.

Christian deserves MVP,” Post-game, Purdy said. That's my belief. We get everything from him. He runs, catches, and does everything. I consider that MVP.”

Besides rushing for 115 yards and one touchdown, McCaffrey caught all five targets for 72 yards and two touchdowns.

On average, the All-Pro rushes for over 92 yards per game and 1,801 yards from scrimmage, leading the league.

Purdy has a 69.7% completion rate through 14 games in the 2023 NFL season, completing 268 of 384 attempts for 3,795 yards and 29 touchdowns.

Among quarterback metrics, Purdy leads the league in touchdown percentage, yards per attempt, and passer rating.
