Keaton Mitchell ruled out with knee injury

Young running back Keaton Mitchell injured his knee after a 13-yard carry earlier in the drive. He was eliminated quickly.

Mitchell ran for 73 yards on nine carries and caught two passes for 15 yards. He had 323 rushing yards at 8.5 yards per carry entering Week 15.

After Gus Edwards' first-and-10 from Jacksonville's 25, offensive tackle Ronnie Stanley left the game. Stanley may not return after a concussion evaluation.

In Mitchell's absence, Harbaugh said 30-year-old veteran Melvin Gordon III, who signed to the practice squad before the season and has 13 carries for 53 yards in two games, will likely be promoted

Gus Edwards and Justice Hill were the only healthy running backs on the 53-man roster after J.K. Dobbins tore his Achilles tendon in the season opener.

In eight games this season, Mitchell, a former East Carolina star whose father, Anthony, was a Ravens playoff hero, had 396 rushing yards and 93 receiving yards

“That was very tough,” said quarterback Lamar Jackson, who led the team with 97 rushing yards Sunday. ‘I thought Mitchell’s run would be a touchdown.
