Podziemski shares encouraging message after injury vs. Celtics
Brandin Podziemski remains optimistic after his injury in the second half of the Warriors' 132-126 overtime win over the Boston Celtics at Chase Centre on Tuesday night.
After falling trying to box out Celtics centre Neemias Queta in the second quarter, the Warriors announced that youngster Podziemski would not return due to a lower back issue.
Just behind freshman Trayce Jackson-Davis (plus-8), Podziemski had a plus-2 rating in 16 minutes with five points on 2-of-4 shooting, three rebounds, one assist, one steal, and one mistake.
One bright spot for the Warriors this season has been their first-round choice in the 2023 NBA Draft, who has earned playing time and even a starting role since joining the team.
Before Tuesday's game, Podziemski, 20, averaged 8.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 2.7 assists in 21.8 minutes per game while shooting 45.5 percent from the floor.
Despite Podziemski's absence, Golden State managed to win despite trailing Boston 65-62 at the half because to a strong play by Steph Curry.
