Hornets’ Miles Bridges denied entry into Canada, missed loss to Raptors due to 'personal reasons'

Bridges missed the Hornets' game against the Raptors on Sunday night after being denied admission into Canada. Hornets stated Bridges skipped game for "personal reasons."

A deleted tweet stated that Bridges "got denied in the 6." Drake, a Toronto native, calls the city The 6 due to its six phone area codes.

Roderick Boone of the Charlotte Observer said that the team was trying to remedy the issue so Bridges could play. No such thing happened. About an hour before the game, the team declared him out.

Bridge's denial has not been explained. Bridges was likely denied admission because Canada can bar criminals. Who's admitted depends on Canada's discretion. Criminal record holders can waive exclusion for a price.

Bridges pled no guilty to felony domestic violence for harming a child's parent on Nov. 3, 2022. He received three years probation without jail time. Bridges is accused of violating a domestic violence court order on Feb. 20.
