1966-67 Sixers take on '82-83 squad in Strat-O-Matic simulation Final

In the Finals of Strat-O-Matic's NBC Sports Philadelphia all-time great Sixers teams tournament simulation, the 1966-67 Sixers face the 1982-83 team.

Thus, legendary ’82-83 head coach Cunningham had a perfect scouting report on “The Kangaroo Kid,” a springy lefty forward who had played 16 years earlier.

It's no surprise these two teams reached the Finals. Both teams have four Hall of Famers and powerhouse MVP centers Wilt Chamberlain and Moses Malone.

To conclude the tournament, we'll review each simulated Finals game and highlight Strat-O-Matic box score numbers.

The 1966-67 team started strong, shooting 60.6% from the field and having six players score 14 points.

Hal Greer scored 29 points to lead the team. In his usual 48 minutes, Chamberlain scored 25 points on 11-for-16 shooting, 13 rebounds, and 13 assists to open the series.

These offensive performances were possible for the '66-67 Sixers. One of the most prolific NBA seasons ever.
