Tim Tebow Names Sleeper Team For College Football Playoff: SEC Nation broadcast from Tuscaloosa on Saturday before the Alabama Crimson Tide vs. Tennessee Volunteers game.

While discussing SEC football, Tim Tebow and the crew looked at the Ole Miss Rebels, who are No. 13 in the country with a 5-1 record (2-1 SEC).

Nobody’s talking about Ole Miss, but the Rebels can make a run to the SEC Championship Game and the College Football Playoff.

Obviously, they’d have to win, but if they can beat the No. 1 team in the nation, they might be in the CFP by December, Tebow added.

“You said, Laura, that they sort of control their destiny,” Tebow adds. “Yes, in SEC West. I suppose they control their own fate in the CFP. Why? They play Georgia. Guess what happens if you upset Georgia with one defeat on your schedule? Not making the top four would be hard.”

Ole Miss would need Alabama to lose twice in the SEC to reach the Championship Game, which seems unlikely. In the SEC West, they have little control.

How can Ole Miss miss the playoffs if they go 11-1 with victories against Georgia and LSU? One of the toughest schedules in NCAA football includes a defeat to Alabama, but a win over the two-time reigning champs after upsetting LSU may get them in.
