Suns drop 1st game with Big 3 of Kevin Durant, Devin Booker and Bradley Beal assembled
During the course of the season, the Big Three of the Phoenix Suns, Kevin Durant, Devin Booker, and Bradley Beal, played together for the very first time.
The challenging phase soon arrived.During their 24th game with their All-Star three, the Suns were defeated by the Brooklyn Nets by a score of 116-112 points.
Durant had 27 points, Beal had 14, and Booker had 34 on 9-of-14 shooting, 12 assists, and six rebounds. Center Jusuf Nurkić scored 15 points and grabbed 22 rebounds after his encounter with Draymond Green.
Eric Gordon, Grayson Allen, and Josh Okogie missed the game due to the Suns' depth issue. Durant, Booker, and Beal scored or assisted on 97 of 112 points for a top-heavy club that contributed only four bench points outside of Nassir Little.
Every starter scored in double figures and four bench players combined for 26 points for the Nets. After a warm greeting and a video tribute, former Suns Cameron Johnson and Mikal Bridges, traded for Durant last season, scored 36 points.
Of course, one game is not enough to determine a team's viability, let alone one in which three players play together for the first time with half their top bench out.
The Suns have 58 games remaining to get healthy and straighten things out, but they're 13-11 and eighth in the Western Conference.
Their next game is Friday at home against the Knicks.
