Report: Ja'Marr Chase will miss time with a separated shoulder

NFL Media's Ian Rapoport reports that Chase separated his shoulder Saturday, keeping him out at least until Sunday's game against the Steelers.

The Bengals, who are still in playoff contention without quarterback Joe Burrow, keep taking hits. They must now do it without star receiver Ja'Marr Chase.

Zac Taylor, Bengals coach, called Chase day-to-day Sunday. Chase appears to be week-to-week. With 10:33 left, he left after a 24-yard reception on 50 of 70 snaps.

Without Chase, the Bengals will rely on Tee Higgins, Tyler Boyd, Trenton Irwin, Andrei Iosivas, and Charlie Jones.

The Bengals have won three straight with Jake Browning at quarterback after a 16-10 loss to the Steelers in Week 12 in his first start.

The LSU product hasn't missed a game this year and is healthy. Over 14 games, he has caught 93 passes for 1,156 yards and 7 touchdowns.

If the 23-year-old misses the expected time, Tee Higgins will likely play WR1 while Tyler Boyd, tight ends Irv Smith Jr., Tanner Hudson, and Drew Sample continue to play.
