NBA invites Mac McClung back to defend Slam Dunk Contest title

From Gate City, Virginia (population 2,034), McClung is an NBA underdog story who believed in himself and worked hard.

He grabbed the Dunk Contest with both hands last season to boost his profile and stay in the NBA (he's played in four games in two seasons).

It is unclear if McClung will do it or who would challenge him. We'll watch him if he's in Indianapolis for the Pacers' All-Star Game next February.

Shams Charania reports that Mac McClung will defend his NBA Slam Dunk Contest title at the 2024 NBA All-Star Weekend.

Last year in Salt Lake City, McClung put on an incredible show to win the title and NBA world praise.

Shaquille O'Neal and Magic Johnson said he "saved" the dunk contest with three perfect 50s and one 49.8.
