SAN FRANCISCO: Steve Kerr lavished a rookie who was stuck to the bench only a few days ago with high accolades after pausing to be sure he would articulate what he was thinking.

Following Friday night's 129-118 rout of the Washington Wizards, the coach made simultaneous mentions of Andrew Bogut and Trayce Jackson-Davis.

Kerr recalled his first two years, they ran a lot of offence through Andrew Bogut at the top of the key. He was great at dribble-handoffs and rim-diving. The praise is high.

Tracyce has a long way to go to become Andrew Bogut. Similar threat. Like Bogues, Trayce is a terrific passer, but he can run dribble-handoffs and dives. He comes to mind.

Jackson Davis' third consecutive great effort ended with a second double-double, 10 points, and 15 rebounds. He had three assists and a block in 25 minutes and was plus-10.

When Jackson-Davis was informed of his coach's remarks, he took pleasure in the praise but also recognised Kerr's viewpoint.

I'm shorter than him, Jackson-Davis said. “We share traits. Great passer. Champion passer. I want to add passing, recognising where guys want to be and providing the ball.

TJD, Chet Holmgren (Oklahoma City Thunder), and Victor Wembanyama (San Antonio Spurs) are the only rookies with back-to-back double-doubles this season.

Bogut, a seasoned No. 1 pick, joined the Warriors in 2013. With the 73-win Warriors in 2015-16, he won a title. TJD, the No. 57 overall pick, sometimes appears lottery-like.
