How Purdy can make NFL passer rating history in 49ers' final stretch

After becoming the 49ers' starting quarterback last season, Brock Purdy has the chance to make NFL history again in the final three games.

Purdy's 135.3 passer rating in the 49ers' 45-29 win over the Arizona Cardinals at State Farm Stadium on Sunday was his sixth of the 2023 NFL season.

For the most such games in a season, Purdy joins Aaron Rodgers (2011, 2020), Tony Romo (2014), Ryan Tannehill (2019), and Russell Wilson (2019).

Should Purdy pass for 130 or more in any of the 49ers' next three games, he will be alone.

Since taking over as San Francisco's starting quarterback last season, Mr. Irrelevant has exceeded expectations.

In the next three games, Purdy could pass two other quarterbacks on a passer-rating record list by scoring 110 or higher.

He has 13 career games with a 110 or higher rating, tied with Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert for the second-most in professional football's first two seasons.
